About twenty-six Mexican men risked their lives on the journey to cross the deadly desert to the United States. As their ââ¬Å"coyoteâ⬠, Jesus Mendez was paid to guide the men (referred to as ââ¬Å"walkersâ⬠). By the end of the journey, fourteen men had died while Mendez and the rest of the twelve men survived. Also working in the factory that was located on the other side of town she had to travel a lot to work everyday. Not only that but the conditions of work were horrid.
